Marine turtles are one of the oldest creatures that ever existed on this planet. Today, all of the 8 existing species in the world are in danger of extinction. In the Bahia of Banderas the Olive Ridley turtle is the most common specie but on occasion a Leatherback or Green Turtle can be spotted. Puerto Vallarta has several conservation projects which help these endangered creatures by protecting the nests and helping to release the baby turtles to the sea. By joining one of the programs, you will not only be able to see the turtles but also take part and support the conversation of the most endangered species of fauna. Come take a part and help Mother Nature!
