HIKING EL NOGALITO -SIERRA MADRE FOOTHILLS
Come and discover one of our least known but most beautiful & ecologic-
ally interesting sites of Puerto Vallarta. We begin in the pueblo of El
Nogalito, and hike in and around the river to a hidden waterfall. You may
choose to enjoy a swim in the natural crystal clear water pool made by the
tumbling cascade. The knowledgeable guides will help you to identify the
wide variety of tropical flora and fauna that you see, & there are plenty of
opportunities to take great pictures. We also hope to encounter tropical
butterflies, parakeets, woodpeckers, parrots, yellow winged caciques,
parakeets, lizards and six foot long iguanas, among other local wildlife.

HIKING PLAYA LOS COLOMITOS-SNORKELING
On this trip we head farther south, out to the fishing village of Boca
De Tomatlan. We hike through the tropical jungle, over a photo-
genic wooden slat and rope hanging bridge, through the river, and
finally we arrive at one of Puerto Vallarta's most secluded beaches.
Many varieties of tropical fish are here to discover as we snorkel in
the lovely bay. We may also encounter a wide variety of exotic
birds, butterflies, lizards and tropical trees along the way.
OPTIONAL KAYAKS CAN NOW BE RENTED FOR $100 PESOS.

HIKING RIO CUALE
The River Cuale bisects Puerto Vallarta. It starts high up in the
Sierra Madre & runs down through Vallarta, splitting in the middle
of town to give us the Island, and disappears into the Pacific Ocean.
When we speak of the town, we always refer to south and north of
the bridges than span the Cuale. It moves rapidly in rainy season,
& dries up to a trickle just before the rain begins again each year.
Part of Vallarta is referred to as 'Gringo Gulch' because of it's
proximity to the riverbed, and the multitude of gringos that reside
there. This trip takes us upriver, through the bountiful jungle, and
up to the Salto Waterfalls. It's about a 12K hike, suitable for the
entire family. You set the pace.
